What else can I do?
You or your parents will have heard of complementary or alternative medicine. They can also be called alternative, natural, or holistic.
For example, there is osteopathy, homeopathy, massage, reflexology, acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Many people who have M.E. try such things and often they can work as an 'add-on' to their usual medical care.
For example, aromatherapy can be very soothing and relaxing. It can help you if you aren't sleeping or have muscle pain.
You should not expect to be cured by any of these therapies, but they may help. Tell your mum, dad or carer that Action for M.E. has a free information sheet – 'Guidance on seeing a Private Practioner'- which we suggest they might like to read before going ahead. Email Action for M.E. for a copy.
Check with your doctor if you're not sure whether you should give one of them a try.
