You can still carry on with some of your schoolwork when you have M.E. but you probably will not be able to do the same things you did before you were ill. Your body will need time to get better and this means you will have to rest more than you used to.
It is important that your parents work with your school to help them understand your M.E., as the teachers may not have had any experience of the illness. It will help if you, your parents and your teachers are flexible in working out the best way of doing some schoolwork.
Many children at Primary school who have M.E. are able to do some of their work and take their standard assessment tests (SATs). To make sure you do the best you can but do not slow down your recovery you should make sure you and your parents:
